Optimize Windows 10 for performance and gaming (2020 edition)

We have to use Microsoft's Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 now as the support of Windows 7 has officially ended recently. And there are many like me who personally do not like Windows 8.1 or could not master Windows 8.1 well. So there is currently no Microsoft OS other than Windows 10 that you can use. And I'm not saying that Windows 10 is a bad OS. Windows 10 is a modern OS with a "modern" feature. And because of the modern features, Windows 10 cannot adapt properly to our "old" PCs / laptops. Especially for those who use a laptop before 2015 or 4GB or less of RAM. Windows 10 requires 4GB of RAM to operate properly. Without opening any kind of app, it can be seen that it takes 1.8 to 2 GB of RAM to run Windows 10. But today I will show you how to optimize Windows 10 properly. Note that even if you have a powerful performance system, you can get the highest performance of Windows 10 by following the methods shown in today's post.

Note that you can find various custom third party editions of Windows 10 by searching the internet. They have less support and stability than the official original version. If you want to use Windows 10 only for gaming purposes, then there are different versions of Windows 10 Super Lite or Extreme Lite from the net in which you can try to cut out most of the features of Windows 10 and make Windows 10 as light as possible. I have installed a light Windows 10 myself. In the normal version, where Windows 10 used to occupy 1.8 GB of RAM on my laptop as a standby, in the modified version of Windows 10 Lite, only 600 MB of RAM is occupied. But I got the problem there that there was no Windows Defender, there was no Windows Store, there was no Paint app and so on.

Note: Before using any of the following fixed, keep in mind that this post is for advanced users only. In other words, today's post is for users who can troubleshoot Windows 10 and understand what they are doing. And before applying the following fixes, don't forget to create a System Restore Point as a precaution so that you can return to the previous state in case of any problem later.

It is better to auto optimize Windows 10 than to optimize it manually. Because it's a smart move to do a few things at once using a cmd bat file without a single command! For this you need to download a zip file. In this zip file I have attached all the necessary tools and bat file. Download by clicking the link below:

Download from google drive

  • Unzip the file. Inside the folder.

  • Now look, there is a folder named ISLC. This is a tool called Intelligent Standy List Cleaner that can monitor and clear your Windows 10 memory standby list. This tool is only used when playing a video game. Minimize it before running the game. You will get better performance in the game. But before minimizing, for the first time you have to make the tool your own settings.

  • Launch the tool as an administrator. Now first check if the Enable custom timer resolution box is ticked, if not tick. Now enter 0.50 in the Wanted timer resolution box at the top. Then enter 10000 in the ISLC polling Rate (ms) box below. Free Memory is lower than Write half of your RAM in the cell. For example, my RAM is 8 gigabytes or 8000 megabytes, so in this cell I have written 8000 megabytes. Done, now click the Start button to minimize the tool and go to the video game.

Now move to the main folder. Right click on the Cache Cleaner.bat file and launch it as Run as Administrator. It will click on your PC's temp files, history files, various types of cookies, recent files, etc. junk files. You can do this cleaning once a day. (cache cleaner file created by @Encap_)

In the same way, you can turn off the Hibernation feature of the PC by launching the Disable Hibernation command bat file as administrator.

Now let's talk about MSI Mode Tool. It's a little advanced tool, so the reverse can happen. However, those who do not have an external graphics card or those who use an internal/integrated GPU skip this tool. Turn on the MSI Mode Tool as an administrator.
